Following the success of the 1st edition organised in Casablanca, the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) and the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (CONECT) organised, in partnership with ANIMA Investment Network and France Clusters, the second edition of #TechDays, that took place in Tunis, at the Laico Hotel (Tunis), on January 29. This event has been organised as part of THE NEXT SOCIETY initiative, co-funded by the European Union.

The objective of the #TechDays is to encourage collaboration between the Mediterranean and European innovation actors : clusters, researchers, SMEs, industry experts and policy makers, through sectoral bilateral meetings who enabled them to exchange on their international strategies and portfolios of activities in order to establish roadmaps for future collaborations. A workshop also allowed to tackle the difficulties met by each participant and to discuss the barriers to internationalisation and the financing conditions.

On the agenda of this Tunisian meeting: to encourage inter-cluster collaboration and strengthen Tunisia’s position as a Hub for the promotion of innovation in the Mediterranean area.

Several workshops provided an opportunity to address the issues encountered by the various players and to discuss the barriers to internationalisation and the conditions of financing during high-level B2B meetings.

This event took place in parallel with the 2nd edition of the Tunisian Technopark Forum. The activities of 30 January 2020 thus offered great opportunities for European SMEs to take advantage of business opportunities with Tunisia and the region.

Also on the agenda for this #TechDays, the launch of the Tech Booster in Tunisia.

This acceleration programme targets “researchers-entrepreneurs”: researchers, engineers or innovators having developed a project thanks to their research studies or their scientific skills and willing to commercialise it or turn it into a business. Thanks to a team of experts, mentors, industry experts and investors, these researchers-entrepreneurs can validate a Business model, an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) ready to access market, work on a pitch and benefit from B2Bs with industry leaders and innovation experts in their sector.

The Tech Booster acceleration programme is implemented in Tunisia by APII and CONECT, national partners of THE NEXT SOCIETY, in partnership with U-Accelerator. 15 to 20 participants selected through a call for applications had the opportunity to participate in a collaborative workshop and a launch session of Tech Booster on January 29 2020 during the #TechDays.

Then, they benefit from a 15-day training course divided in 3 modules: design thinking, innovation management and launch strategy. Finally, they took part in a I2I meeting with targeted industrialists and investors.
