#TechDays THE NEXT SOCIETY in Morocco
THE NEXT SOCIETY and the European Commission through the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), with the support of StartUp Morocco and ANIMA Investment Network, organised the 1st edition of #TechDays, an event for cluster managers from Europe and the Middle East and North Africa region, which took place in Casablanca, Morocco, from 9 to 11 April 2019 in the margins of the Logismed exhibition.
The 1st edition of #TechDays THE NEXT SOCIETY promoted cooperation and networking between cluster managers from both sides of the Mediterranean in order to explore potential synergies that can lead to business partnerships between the various organizations.
The event, offered to clusters in the MENA region as part of the Cluster Booster Track, the tailor-made support programme for cluster managers supported by THE NEXT SOCIETY, paid particular attention to certain strategic sectors in the economy of the Euro-Mediterranean region: transport and logistics; agriculture and agri-food industry, energy and the environment; information and communication technologies (ICT), mecatronics and the textile industry.
The first day has been the opportunity for the participants to get to know their peers through networking activities and dynamic meetings!
This first day in Morocco for the #Techdays saw the intervention of strategic EU representatives during the opening session, showing their support to this initiative!
Also during the opening session, the General Delegate of ANIMA Investment Network, Emmanuel Noutary, had the opportunity to intervene during this event implemented to strengthen strategic cooperation between European and South Mediterranean clusters.
The second part of the #Techdays has been to occasion for the participants to be part of inspiring C2C meetings organised to identify common sinergies and projects between the EU and the South-Mediterranean clusters.
These meetings were the perfect moments to accelerate exchanges with their peers with the objective of forging links and building business relationships!
This second day in Casablanca furthered the main ambition of the 3-day event: through moments of relaxation, networking and peer learning, the participants had to opportunity to open new channels for a strong collaboration at national, regional and international level!
Finally, the third day of the 1st edition of #TechDays been the opportunity for the participants to visit the local organizations of high interest and other activities that strengthened cooperation with their peers.
These visits strongly participated to the creation of a strong cluster community in the Mediterranean region.
What a great way to emphasize peer learning as a way to strengthen each others capacities!
THESE #TECHDAYS CAN BE CONSIDERED AS A SUCCESS!
During these three days, cluster managers benefited from a strong support: training targeted on Industry 4.0, South-South cooperation and C2C collaboration between Europe and the southern shore of the Mediterranean; bilateral meetings to identify business opportunities for clusters and their members; and networking!
